The techniques that exist to restore a loss of pigment has improved markedly over the past few years. The different conditions for which people seek this surgery include – Vitiligo, white scars, light coloured birth marks etc.

The basic premise is – taking skin from a covered area – like the thigh – seperating the pigment creating cells ( melanocytes ), and then placing them in the area of pigment loss ( typically the visible areas – like the face or hands ) – after that area has been prepared to receive the cells.
